Wednesday, July 28, 9PM: Protest Arizona's Legalized Racial Profiling. Get on the Bus to Arizona

Join the July 29th, Statewide Protest against SB 1070. Without enough people signed up to go, This free bus is likely to get cancelled; Please consider joining Us...

A FREE, (love donations encouraged), 47 passenger bus will be leaving from Chicano Park at around 9:00 PM. Folks are encouraged to sleep on the bus. It will take people to the demonstration, and will return the next night, late on July 29th.

Remember, we're boycotting Arizona, so bring as much of your own food and water supplies as possible, so we don't have to buy much while we're there. It will be hot, so bring a hat, plenty of liquids, and sun screen.

Saturday, July 31, 4:30PM: Manchester protest: GOProud right wing queers violating boycott!

Location Manchester Grand Hyatt, 1 Market Place San Diego.

GOPROUD will by holding a "Don't Tread on Us" Reception. Featuring Tammy Bruce: Fox News Channel Political Analyst & GOProud's Advisory Council Chair.

From 5pm to 7pm they will be holding their reception.

This will be the first LGBT group to violate our community's boycott of the Manchester Grand Hyatt.

Lets meet out front of the Manchester Grand Hyatt at 4:30pm until 5:30pm. We will have bullhorns, drums, banner, picket signs, etc.

Feminist Reading in an American Book discussion:

Octavia Butler's PARABLE OF THE SOWER

Where: Wangenheim Room (third floor), Central Library, 820 E Street, San Diego.

In this novel, a group of dystopian Californians seek to establish a society built on a new religion and nontraditional values. Read the book and join Professor Camille F. Forbes, from the Literature Department at UCSD, in the discussion.

Thursday, August 5, 7PM: Matters of Controversy. Come see the outstanding new film "The Sea Change"

with graduate students from SCRIPPS Institute of Oceanography. Tesa Pierce and Carolina Behe who will lead audience participation following screening. A Sea Change is the first documentary about ocean acidification. The feature-length film is also a beautiful paen to the ocean world and an intimate story of a Norwegian-American family whose heritage is bound up with the sea.

First Unitarian Universalist Church 4190 Front Street, Hillcrest, San Diego Across from the UCSD Hospital. $5-$10 Donation Requested - wheelchair accessible - appropriate for all ages.
